Blue tones are the most rare in Daylilies, and often occur on small blooms with thin petals, so we were very excited when we saw this stunning beauty! The blooms are very large - 5.5 inches - and their form is the ideal sought in modern Daylily breeding. The petals are broad and open out widely from the throat, presenting the biggest area to show off the gorgeous lavender color, while the ruffling is superb, very distinct and deep, and creating a 'pie crust' on the edges. Then, there's the color - clear, bright and clean, and lavender blue! Of course, simply having beautiful blooms does not make a great Daylily, so the breeder made sure to include attributes of vigor, excellent healthy foliage, substantial bud count and branches to hold them apart, and hardiness in his creation. 5.5-inch blooms on 26-inch stems open in Midseason and repeat in Late Season.
